Diagnosing and Managing Migraine: A Patient-Centered Approach

This activity is jointly provided by the Clinical and Patient Educators Association and the Institute for Patient Access. This activity is planned in collaboration with the Clinical Neurological Society of America.
Target Audience
The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of neurologists and primary care providers, including physician assistants and nurse practitioners, who are involved in the direct care of patients with migraine.
Statement of Need/Program Overview
There is an ongoing need for learning activities to educate medical doctors and allied health professionals about the diagnosis and treatment of migraine. This activity will help providers improve their knowledge of new therapeutic options for preventative and abortive treatment options and design an evidence-based management plan for patients with migraine.
Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, learners should be better able to:
- Review best practices for the timely and accurate diagnosis of migraine.
- Identify the mechanisms of action and clinical profiles of new therapeutic options for preventative and abortive treatment of patients with migraine.
- Design patient-centered evidence-based treatment plans for managing migraine.
